Prescott's Original Speakeasy Returns: Now Open!

A speakeasy of many names operated at Hotel St. Michael for over a hundred years, including during the Prohibition years. Hotel St. Michael is proud to introduce Fire & Sword, a new iteration of the hotel's original speakeasy on Whiskey Row.

The speakeasy is a nod to the hotel's rich history featuring original brick and restored copper ceilings, while crafting a unique space for more memories to come. Join us for a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of Prescott while you enjoy the bar's specialty craft cocktails.

    If these walls could talk.

    In 1900, Prescott's "only fireproof hotel," The Burke, burned down while patrons watched, whiskey in hand. Rebuilt in 1901 and dedicated to Archangel Michael, the Hotel Saint Michael has stood for over a century.⁠

    While the bar name and concept may have changed over the years, an underground speakeasy has always been a staple at Hotel St. Michael. Most noteably, an underground tunnel connected the hotel's neighboring courthouse directly to the bar during the Prohibition Era.
